This year as our Erasmus+ experience,  we had a unique chance to practice the “Make up Artist” course and prepare for the carnival in Tenerife. It was a rich and interesting experience that allowed us to master new techniques and improve our skills in the field of makeup and creating carnival images.

The practice was organized in the format of preparing carnival costumes and creating makeup for the participants of the carnival, which lasted 21 days.

Every day was busy and interesting:

1. Introduction to basic techniques for applying makeup in group work

2. Studying the features and techniques of applying bright and creative makeup for the carnival.

3. Working with makeup, sparkles, rhinestones and other decorative elements.

4. Development and implementation of a complete carnival look, including makeup, hairstyle and costume.

5. Applying the acquired knowledge in practice, creating your own carnival image for the carnival.

Yes, yes, we were also participants in the carnival and created our own unique carnival image.

Our curators were true professionals in their field. They not only shared their knowledge and experience, but also helped each participant to reveal their creative potential. The atmosphere in the classes was friendly and supportive, which contributed to productivity and skill development.

During practice we learned:

- Properly prepare the skin for applying makeup.

- Use various techniques to create bright and long-lasting carnival makeup.

- Work with decorative elements and special effects.

- Develop and implement complex carnival visuals.

-Work in a team with large groups of artists.

-Deepened their knowledge in the field of makeup and learned to create bright and memorable carnival images

Practicing makeup and preparing for the carnival was a valuable experience for us. We received a lot of useful knowledge and skills that we can apply in our work and creative projects.

We spent our days off with maximum benefit and pleasure. Tenerife is an island that offers many opportunities for recreation and entertainment, and we have tried to take advantage of all of these opportunities.

We went to the beaches of the Atlantic Ocean, swam and sunbathed.

In the evening we decided to try local cuisine in one of the cozy restaurants nearby. We tried different dishes, like jacket potatoes with mojo sauce, fresh seafood and Canarian wines.

We had the opportunity to attend three Carnival Gala concerts.

We strolled through the streets of the capital, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, visited the famous Plaza de España and admired the architecture of the Auditorio de Tenerife, a modern concert hall designed by Santiago Calatrava. We also visited two great museums: the Museum of Modern Art and the Historical Museum of the Canary Islands. We visited the unique city market Nuestra Señora de Africa.

Our practice ended with participation in one of the carnival events. Tenerife is famous for its carnival, which is second only to Brazil in scope. We enjoyed the colourful procession, music and dancing, immersed in the festive atmosphere.

Our practice in Tenerife was eventful and unforgettable. We managed to enjoy both the natural beauty of the island and its cultural attractions. This experience was a great end to our internship and left many pleasant memories. Tenerife is an amazing place that is worth visiting to experience its unique atmosphere and diversity.
