An event was held last week in Blackrock Further Education Institute to congratulate the students who successfully completed an Erasmus+ work experience placement in 2018/19.
Cian Cusack and Jack Landy from Games Design and Development, Evan Doyle and Rajendr Singh from Computer Science and Seán Óg Durack Monks from Web Design and Digital Media completed a two week work experience placement with web design company, Success Media, in Utrecht in the Netherlands. Project leader, Frank Griffin, spoke about how much he enjoyed getting to know the IT students during the mobility project and how proud he was of their success.
Second Year beauty therapy students, Amy O’Kane, Aislinn McNicholl, Sarah Golden, Nicole Kavanagh, Alisha Cannon and Erica Cairns completed a three week work experience placement in 4 and 5 star spas and salons in sunny Tenerife in March. Project leader, Gillian Byrne, commented on the glowing feedback she had received from the girls' Spanish employers.
“Amazing”, “interesting”, “educational”, were just some of the adjectives used by the students to describe this unique learning opportunity which was fully funded by Léargas, the National Agency for the coordination of Erasmus+ mobility projects in Ireland.
Gillian Bryne and Frank Griffin presented students with their Certificates of Attendance and their Europass Mobility certification.
College Principal, Tom Taylor, congratulated the students on how well they represented Blackrock Institute on the European stage and wished them well for the future careers.
