ERASMUS+ in BFEI
BFEI is funded by the European Union's Erasmus+ program to send students on work placements within the European Union.
To date 73 BFEI students have completed an Erasmus+ work placement in Europe:
- In 2018 six students from the Beauty Department did a three work experience placement in 4 and 5 star hotels and salons in Tenerife.
- In 2019 five students from the IT department travelled to Utrecht in the Netherlands to complete work placements with a digital media company and six beauty students travelled to Tenerife to complete a three-week work placement.
- In 2020 five Business and five IT students travelled to Utrecht in the Netherlands to complete their two week QQI work experience placement and six Make Up and four Design students travelled to Tenerife to complete a three-week work experience placement.
- In 2023, 36 students completed an Erasmus+ work experience placement in Utrecht, Tenerife and Malaga. These students were studying Beauty Therapy, Make Up, Interior Design, Business, IT and Psychology.
- In 2024, we are planning to send 49 students to Europe to complete a work experience placement.
Students on Erasmus+ placements have their flights, travel insurance and accommodation costs paid for, they also receive an allowance for day-to-day living expenses (food, bus/train fare etc.) while on their placement.
