Huge congratulations to first-year landscape design student, Ken Ruane, who was one of the three runner-ups in the Kilsaran Design Competition. The competition, which is held annually and is now in its third successful year, drew entries from across the country. Speaking at the event, celebrity designer and competition judge, Diarmuid Gavin said, "This was the toughest year yet to pick a winner. The standard we're seeing is increasing every year".
Ken explained that he'd submitted his entry after only starting the course in BFEI. Barry Lupton, Design Tutor at BFEI, added "I'm delighted for Ken and for the Institute. Ken was the only student to enter the competition this year and to achieve an award is a testament to the Institute's focus".
BFEI offers a two year programme in landscape design leading to a Higher National Diploma and progression to year three of several BSc Landscape Architecture courses.
