An event was held this morning to congratulate second year beauty therapy students who recently successfully and enthusiastically completed a three week work experience placement in Tenerife, Spain.
Principal, Deirdre Hanamy, opened the event by welcoming Aoife, Andrea, Ciara, Eve, Ellie and Sophie and their parents. She also welcomed Elva Duggan and Tomas Bulnes, representing Léargas, the National Agency for the coordination of the Erasmus + Programme in Ireland, and Mark Coney representing Europass Information Services of Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI). The event was also attended by Brian Mooney, Chairperson of BFEI's Board of Management and BFEI staff members.
In her address to guests, Gillian Byrne, Department Head, spoke about how positive BFEI's first involvement in an Erasmus + mobility had been, for the beauty students involved, the staff who accompanied them to and from Tenerife and for BFEI itself.
Elva Duggan, on behalf of Léargas, congratulated the students on their achievement while Mark Coney from QQI told them that today was not the end of their journey but rather it was the beginning!
Aoife, Andrea, Ciara, Eve, Ellie and Sophie each spoke briefly about their experience on the progamme and highlighted its many benefits.The event concluded with the presentation to the girls of their Certificate of Attendance and their Europass Certification.
