Earlier this week, the staff in BFEI assessed how best, as a college community of many nationalities, we can offer support to the people of Ukraine. It is very sad and distressing to witness such terrible scenes happen in another European country. We are aware of a lot of different charities and projects that are helping but suggest that the Irish Red Cross Appeal for the Ukraine Crisis is a worthy cause to consider.
The core principles of the Red Cross are; "Humanity; Impartiality; Neutrality; Independence; Voluntary Service; Unity; and Universality"
As an organisation, the Red Cross has the infrastructure, experience and expertise to delivery support and aid in the most challenging and difficult environments.
A link to the appeals page is shown below and this will be promoted more widely throughout the college from next week.
Please note the college are inviting staff and students to consider donating directly - we won't be making collections within the college. The Late Late Show for the 4th of March will also be encouraging donations to the Red Cross and you can make a donaton below.
